Brazil: Receipts from tourism +14,4%

The data released today by the Brazilian Central Bank and the Brazilian Tourism Board - EMBRATUR, shows that the international receipts from international visitors expenditure in 2011 grew beyond the initial expectations. The total spending by foreigners traveling to Brazil  reached USD6, 775 billion.The increase represents 14.4% higher than last year's, and more than three times the world average growth. According to the UNWTO, international receipts and expenditures for 2011 were up 4% on average.
The evolution of this data over the last ten years shows that the international visitors expenditures, travelling to Brasil, jumped from USD 1.7 in 2001 to USD 6.7 in 2011.
